Innovating a new generation of adaptable wind turbines.
Our floaitng off-shore wind turbines entail the use of 4D printing (an emerging technology) to build adaptive wind turbine blades by mimicking the structure of the plant=leaf veins. This idea ultimately provides more efficient and sustainable energy generation.
Our solution will allow us to create wind turbines that are 7.6x more efficient than the status quo.
Adaptive Wind Turbine Blades using Biomimicry
By mimicking the structure of plant leaf veins to design wind turbine blades, the blades will be able to adapt to different environmental stresses by changing shape to face less resistance; optimizing efficiency.
4D Printing Blades with Polylactic Acid
By 4D printing (an emerging field of study) using a smart material called polylactic acid (PLA), the turbines withstand high temperatures and wind speeds while being more cost-effective and sustainable.
3D Printing Wind Turbine Towers
We’re using a Gantry concrete 3D printer, to create the base and tower of the wind turbine at the installation location. This is a faster, cost-effective solution due to the significant reduction of manual labor and error.
Floating and off-shore wind turbines
By building floating off-shore wind turbines, we will be able to harness higher speeds of more consistent wind and more space; as well as the lack of physical interference that land or human-made objects can present.
